Asad Durrani

Asad Durrani, a retired Lt Gen from Pakistan, was born in 1941 in the then undivided India. A graduate from Government College Lahore—now a university—he joined the Army in 1959. A brief stint as the head of the ISI, Pakistan’s premier Intelligence Agency, exposed him to a range of regional and domestic issues. Post retirement he was twice the Country’s ambassador—to Germany and to Saudi Arabia. He now writes, lectures, and participates in conferences at home and abroad. He has also authored a book, being published by Hurst and likely to be out by the mid 2018.
