Juan Carlos Alonso

Juan Carlos Alonso is a Cuban American author, illustrator, graphic designer and creative director. He has over 30 years experience in the graphic design/illustration field. In 1992, he founded Alonso & Company, a creative boutique specializing in branding, design, and advertising. He has been working with clients of all sizes from Fortune 500 to local businesses and has forged strong relationships with companies including the NBA franchise The Miami Heat, Bacardi Rum, Ryder System, Pitney Bowes, and Capitol Records to name a few. Alonso & Company has attained international acclaim for work in advertising and graphic design. His passion for nature has taken him around the world from Australia to Alaska to the Galapagos Islands to study animals both on land and in the sea. He is the coauthor and illustrator for the Ancient Earth series of books as well as author/illustrator of the Animal Journal series.

He is a three-time winner of Outstanding Science Trade Books for students (2016, 2017 & 2018) and 2016 International Literacy Association's Children's Choices 2016 Reading List selection.
