JessieMay Kessler was born in Shirley, Massachusetts, USA, a small factory town forty miles outside of Boston, Massachusetts. She grew up in a reform school for juvenile delinquent boys, her father the landscape instructor. Family is her focus! After graduating with a BS. in Home Economics from UMass, Amherst, JessieMay married a young minister in a Connecticut country parish and worked beside him until the children came. After thirteen years, she recognized the dangerous abuse in the marriage and filed for a divorce.
The next years were dark until Jessie met Sy Kessler in her divorce support group. The electricity sparked at first sight. Combining the two families of dysfunctional teenage ladies was challenging. Jessie expanded her knowledge of family psycology by enteriing Saint Joseph University in Harford, Connecticut, for a MA. in counseling. As the girls have moved on into their own lives and Sy has passed away, JessieMay has returned to her childhood dream of being a recognized author on family and individual psychology.
JessieMay has finished her memoir trilogy, with the third book being published first. (The reason is a long story.) In 2025 this book publlished as "A Bird and the Dragon: Their Love Story: A Memoir," took Gold in the Global Book Awards, and recently was republished as "A Bird and the Dragon: Their Love Story for Adults." It showcases the struggles of building a blended family. The book that starts the trilogy, hit the market in 2024 and is entitled "Bitzy's Story: Healing the Pain of Silence." It illustrates one of many ways adults who suffer from childhood abuse can heal. Bitzy's abuse was for a noble cause, but resulted in the same wounding as a child of other types of abuse. The middle book in the series: "Hunt the Beloved," a bit spicy, is JessieMay's experiences and misadventures with various lovers who helped to shape her choice of a life partner. The last two books mentioned, also took Bronze in the Global Book Awards.
