James Hume

THRILLERS WITH A TWIST:

James is a former engineer who has always had a love of writing and a passion for reading thrillers that unravel a complex puzzle. Now he has finally put the two together.

His first book, Hunting Aquila, and its sequel, Chasing Aquila, together with a third, Killing the Captain, have now been published.

The themes behind these thrillers pull together some of James’ other interests, particularly 1940s and 50s history. They explore how historical events and human situations of that time can still resonate in today’s changing world.

The books form a planned series of thrillers featuring protagonists from UK Special Branch facing complex situations and resolving them using intelligent analysis and top class resources, including from book three, the USAAF and CIA.

Born and brought up in Glasgow, Scotland, he is married with a grown-up family.

5★ AMAZON REVIEWERS ON JAMES HUME AND HIS BOOKS:

★★★★★ “Great story and premise. Many engaging characters. Once I began reading it the only time I stopped was when I had to charge my Kindle. I hate to compare authors, but if I didn't know Hume wrote this, I would guess Ken Follett did. The novel is that good.” (Bill Hoyler)

★★★★★ “A brilliant story. I couldn't put this book down and read it in less than a day to the exclusion of everything else.” (Kindle Customer)

★★★★★ “The two-part WWII espionage novels by James Hume flowed easily and gave me a glimpse of intelligent Special Branch characters. Well done.” (Allen B Simons)

★★★★★ “These ww2 stories are really great, even if fiction. Although adding real history takes it to a new level of enjoyment.” (PW)

★★★★★ “Well developed theme and characters. Highly plausible story, with intrigue and personal stories to make it seem real. Excellent read.” (Jane H Kelley)

★★★★★ “I was fortunate enough to be given these two books (amongst others) for my birthday in April. The plot in each is so good and I wanted to keep reading it so kept going upstairs quietly and reading a few chapters while I could. These are excellent books for anyone who enjoys thrillers and to be kept in suspense so long is wonderful. Do please try these books and you won't be disappointed.” (Lyn 1804) “I got into James Hume books via my husband Tim and got Hunting Aquila and Chasing Aquila, and loved them. This third book was just as interesting and thrilling to read and look forward to more books from the very talented Mr Hume.” (Lyn 1804)
