ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am an artist (barbminas.com) and writer living in Cave Creek, Arizona. I majored in English literature and European history and returned to graduate school to study art. In the 1970's I opened Arcadia Montessori School in Tacoma, WA. Having a variety of jobs has always been interesting for me: assistant professor of art at Pacific Lutheran University, stockbroker with Merrill Lynch, co-owner of both Tacoma Art Pottery and the Contemporary Crafts Gallery.
My family moved from Hammond, IN to Scottsdale, AZ in the mid 1950's. I moved back to AZ in the late 90's and became a realtor with Russ Lyon Sotheby's. The past 15 years I've worked as an artist and writer. Traveling anywhere, anytime is a passion for me, my brother and sister. Dad was a big influence and my trip with him to Moscow was one of the highlights of my life!
My husband Mike Watt and I often drive to Alaska and have traveled in Central and South America. An old friend of Mike's enticed us (Mike had been there) to the remote Marquesas Islands to meet his relatives and on to Bora Bora and Tahiti. We had a opportunity to visit Egypt and Tunisia before the "Arab Spring." There are many places we've wandered around on this planet! Recently we moved to a couple of acres in Cave Creek where visitors include diamondback rattlers, javelina, bobcats, scorpions and tons of birds.
This self-publishing was a challenge. I spent about 6 months reading about how easy it would be and another 6 months finding out it wasn't easy. I was happy to have Createspace do the hard work, although this is my DISCLAIMER: any typos, misspellings and punctuation errors are the result of Russian hacking!
My amazing daughter Whitney Keyes and son Josh Keyes have great sites on Facebook. Check out what they do! You may have heard Whit or purchased one of Josh's paintings.
