Michael J. Defosse is a published author and lifelong storyteller whose passion for mythology, folklore, and the ancient world now takes center stage in his writing. With multiple degrees from Syracuse University, he brings a distinctive blend of analytical insight and creative vision to every page.
Michael’s latest literary endeavor is a five-book series on Greek mythology, with the first title—Greek Mythology: Gods of Mount Olympus—launching on September 1, 2025. This immersive collection explores the gods, heroes, creatures, and sacred places of ancient Greece, reviving timeless tales with fresh perspective and mythic grandeur for modern readers.
While his earlier works focused on finance and investing, this new direction reflects a deeper calling—one rooted in childhood days spent exploring forests and lakes in rural New York, where wonder and imagination were his constant companions. These formative experiences sparked a lifelong fascination with the myths and legends that now inspire his storytelling.
Today, Michael lives in New York City’s historic Financial District, where he continues to research, write, and bring ancient stories to life through Mythology Publishing. His goal is to spark curiosity, ignite imagination, and connect readers of all ages with the enduring wisdom of the ancient world.
“Myth is more than memory—it’s the soul’s way of telling stories that matter.”
