Mike Dickson

Surprised by life! A Londoner, Mike's life changed when he ran a marathon in his 40s, which led to his becoming a founder of the children's charity Whizz-Kidz in 1990. Whizz-Kidz has since raised over £100million for disabled children. Mike discovered that living generously brings people health, joy and happiness. His mission is to share this message and encourage as many people as possible to spread the word.

Mike writes and speaks about the power of generosity and advises companies, individuals and families on effective philanthropy. In 2012 he founded Rainmaker Foundation (with Archbishop Desmond Tutu as patron) to create a community of people who wish to change the world through their generosity. Mike is currently a partner in Our Generous Gene, spending his time encouraging people to be generous and kind. He has learnt the simple truth that small acts of generosity have an amazing ripple effect and are changing the world for the better. Mike's story - how running a marathon led to a £100million charity - was never in his life plan!
