Derek Davis lives in upstate Pennsylvania – the Endless Mountains – and is very happy to be here. Former editor of the Welcomat, a Philadelphia alternate paper later known as the Philadelphia Weekly, he has published over 60 short stories, three novels and a short story collection, has written a dozen plays for his local community and has an all-encompassing sense of humor. (He finds existence itself pretty funny.) He does not write "series" of anything because he prefers each work to have a unique flavor, cast and outlook. If you saw him on the street, you would probably think nothing of him one way or another.
On the side, he chainsaws trees into firewood, talks to squirrels and helps his wife make wine from almost any edible substance. He enjoys talking to anyone, one on one, but finds social media icky. (And by the way, "media" is plural; it pays to study Latin in high school.)
