Hello!
I was a instructor/lecturer for over 20 years here in Canada and in Asia. I spent 14 years in Asia, Thailand and Malaysia, teaching mostly business related subjects. Right now I am semi-retired, and looking for ways to supplement my pension income.
I have dedicated this book to my two friends Doc and Tiger. Both of the cats were American Short Hairs. Tiger was a Tabby and was a warrior prince. Because a he was Tabby he would disappear for days but he would show up at the house for food and a chance to sit on our lap and purr. Doc aka Doctor Strangelove was a poet/artist. He had the operation so he was more of a philospher, and he had a great sense of humor. Both of these cats were my dear friends, and I miss them greatly. Also. they are major characters in this book and other books I have written.
So, where is the City of the Cats? Well, I lived there for 13 years. Any guesses? It's in Asia. It's on an island. It's Kuching, Sarawak Malaysia, and it's on Borneo Island. It has a number of cat statutes throughout the city. One of them is mentioned in the book. Big Kitty. Maybe someday you can visit Kuching and see Big Kitty. Interestly Kuching also has a Cat Museum.
Bako National Park was also mentioned in the book. It is my favorite national park in the world.
Where is the Land of the Living Skies? It's where you can see the Northern Lights, and it is in Canada. I mention it several times in my books. I will let you discover where that is on your own. Also, you should try surfing the Dawn of the North.
Where is Island of the Cats? Of course it is fictitious. However, the underwater island of Zealandia does exist. New Zealand is part of it, and it is an island not under water. This location will be a play a central role in the next book I will write.
There are several breeds of Cats. I have mentioned several in the book. Did you know Istanbul is another great Cat City? Did you know that there is an island near Japan, and the only inhabitants are cats?
Do you know who Bast is? She is the Egyptian Goddess of Cats. She is their chief protector. She plays a major part in this book and my next book.
Bast asks for help from Real and Doc. The people at Area Meow Meow are looking for ways to lessen the impact of global warming on the feline cat race. They have several options:
1. Do nothing
2. Build a city on the Island of the Cats found in the underwater world of Zealandia.
3. Use time travel, and go and see what the earth will like in 2050, 2100, 2200..
4. Look for a new planet to live on.
What should they do?
Finally, why do I call myself Real Dragon. Well, I was born in 1952. According to the Chinese Zodiac I am a water dragon. Therefore, I am a Real Dragon. How about you?
