Charis Rooks

Dr. Charis M. Rooks, affectionately known as "Doc," is a Christian author, Bible teacher, professor, speaker, and founder of Anchor & Grace Co., Inspired Grace Ministries, and Sapience Atelier Publishing.

With a PhD in Christian Leadership from Liberty University and an MBA in Leadership from Oral Roberts University, Dr. Rooks serves as a graduate professor and Doctoral Chair in the School of Divinity, where she mentors and equips future leaders, scholars, and ministry professionals. Her work combines academic excellence, biblical truth, leadership development, and compassionate care.

As an unexpected widow who also experienced the loss of her mother, Dr. Rooks writes from both professional expertise and personal experience. Her passion is helping people find hope, healing, and purpose in life's most difficult seasons. Through Anchor & Grace Co., she creates faith-centered resources for widows and widowers navigating grief, healing, identity, faith, and life after the loss of a spouse.

She is the creator of The Anchor™, a grief companioning and support ministry, and The ReWrite™, a community where widows and widowers gather, eat, connect, and heal together through shared meals, conversation, travel, prayer, and meaningful relationships.

Dr. Rooks is the author of The Kingdom Writer Collection and The Anchor & Grace Collection, including Hope & Healing After the Loss of a Spouse and other resources designed to encourage readers in faith, healing, purpose, and spiritual growth. Her writing is known for combining biblical truth, practical wisdom, honest reflection, and grace-filled encouragement.

Whether teaching in the classroom, speaking at events, mentoring leaders, or writing books, Dr. Rooks' mission remains the same: to help people discover hope, embrace their God-given calling, and move forward with courage, faith, and grace.

When she is not teaching or writing, she enjoys spending time with her daughters and grandson, studying and writing Scripture by hand, traveling, and creating resources that help others navigate life with hope and purpose.
