Mick Malton

Mick Malton was born in Hull in 1955 into a deep sea trawling family. Mick has spent over 35 years in schools and education since starting his teaching career in 1978 as an eager History teacher. Mick went on to enjoy senior leadership posts in 3 different schools including a Headship in a secondary school in Northamptonshire. Mick continues to enjoy contact with schools through his part time consultancy work. He is also able to indulge his lifelong passion for history in his role as a volunteer guide in his local museum.

This is Mick's first foray into writing and he is both excited and still a little surprised when he reads his name in print as a co- author of "The Decisive Element". He is proud of this "practical" book for colleagues who work in schools today. He hopes readers will pick up on the enthusiasm, positivity and passion for schools, teaching and kids which he, Gary and Chris have and which they have poured into this book.

Mick is lifelong rugby fan and he satisfies this love for the game now as a loyal Northampton Saints Rugby Club supporter - his dreams of playing rugby for England long gone !!!
