Steven Noble

With over 25 years of networking experience, working for some of the largest network service providers, software and hardware companies, Steven Noble is focused on the next generation of networking. Steven is a well known expert in the technology space of network function virtualization (NFV), software defined networking (SDN) and open source software (OSS).

In his current role as Open Networking Evangelist at Big Switch Networks, Steven spends most of his time working on Open Network Linux (ONL). Steven runs the QA lab for ONL as well as speaking at public and private events on the subjects of open source networking.

As the President of the Board of the not for profit organization Network Device Education Foundation (NetDEF), Steven focuses energy on providing testing for open source networking stacks such as FRR.

Steven was an early employee of Exodus Communications and built his knowledge of networks through scaling Exodus from 10Mb/s of network traffic to 30Gb/s+. Since Exodus Steven has spent time at network hardware and software providers, a content delivery network (CDN) and a deep packet inspection (DPI) start-up.
