Dominic Hladek

Dominic Hladek (*1979) is an author of fantasy literature and a role-playing game designer. He lives with his family near Frankfurt and works full-time in IT.

Since his youth, Dominic Hladek has been passionate about pen-and-paper role-playing games and fantasy literature. Since 2010, he has regularly worked as a freelance writer for various role-playing game publishers.

His work focuses primarily on the game worlds of The Dark Eye and The Black Cat (Ulisses Spiele), as well as Call of Cthulhu (Pegasus Spiele). Previously, he also contributed to numerous publications for Space: 1889 (Uhrwerk Verlag). In addition to writing adventures, he has worked on sourcebooks and taken on editorial tasks.

He has contributed to nearly 100 role-playing game books published by various publishers. Over 50 adventures are solely his work, making him one of the most prolific role-playing game authors in the German-speaking world. Some of his works have also been translated into English through international crowdfunding campaigns.

In addition to his work in the role-playing field, Dominic Hladek writes short stories and is working on his first literary novel. The story combines fantastical elements with questions about the role of imagination in human life—its power, its loss, and the passing of stories and creativity between generations.
