Cal Coolidge grew up in Connecticut attending RHAM High School where he was better known for his athletic abilities than literary prowess. He graduated from Bradley University in Peoria Illinois in 1974 with a degree in Business Management and commissioned a Lieutenant in the US Air Force. He served as a Minuteman Launch Officer in Grand Forks ND.
He began a 26 year career in the defense electronic business in 1976 with Texas Instruments which included assignments in Dallas/Detroit and Washington DC where he was Vice President of Business Development for the Defense Systems and Electronics group and later served in a similar post with TRW's Space and Electronics Group in Washington DC.
In 2006 and 2007 he and his spouse Joan took a walk on the wild side casting away their careers and comfortable life to buy a small hotel on the island of Saint Croix, move there and run the establishment until reality set in. The Book "Seventeen Steps of Stone...Escaping Paradise" is his and Joan's first published writing and recounts the entire experience. The Good, the Bad and the Lucky.
Cal is now retired and lives in Lake Frederick Virginia with Joan and his loyal dog Max, an 85 lbs black Boxer. He is an avid golfer and leads groups annually on golf trips to some of the top courses in the world. Those trips could provide the events that inspire his next writings.
