Let me introduce myself. I'm Bill Flockhart and I have written five thriller novels under the Operation Large Scotch Series which are 'Operation large Scotch', 'She's Not A lovely Girl', 'Joppa Rocks', 'Vengeance in Valescure' and my latest one 'Shots On Target'. To date they have been well received, achieving mostly four and five star reviews on Amazon books / Kindle'

I live in Joppa on the east end of Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, with my wife Joyce. I only took up writing when I retired from working in the finance industry and published my first book when I was seventy one.

Golf is my other passion and in my younger years played off a very low handicap but alas the sands of time are catching up with me fast and my golf has deteriorated and made me more interested in writing. My other interests are football and I am a season ticket holder at Heart of Midlothian.

Details of my Books:-

'Operation Large Scotch' is about Irish terrorists threatening to destroy large parts of the Scotch whisky industry and I was able use my experience of the whisky trade as I worked, when I was younger, in a whisky distillery for eight years.

Fuelled by the thrill of producing my first book I wrote a sequel 'She's Not A Lovely Girl' about bringing the one terrorist who escaped capture in Book one to justice. The hunt for Mhairi McClure takes the security on a merry dance round Europe as she schemes and murders those on her trail.

'Joppa Rocks ' commences with a naked young girl being washed up on the shore on the East end of Edinburgh who was last seen in Leipzig Germany hundreds of miles away - so how has she got there? MI6 want to know as she is one of their agents and there investigations lead them into a world of drug trafficking and white slave gangsters. This book was nominated at the 2021 Bloody Scotland Book Festival for the 'Pitch Perfect' event

'Vengeance in Valescure' deals with the treat MI6 perceive will come about with changes in north African governments after the 'Arab Spring' developments. At Valescure in the South of France a group of Russians posing as a wine distribution company have begun to sell weapons to terrorist organisations based in Europe and North Africa. Richard Hartley sends three of his best agents to Valescure with the instructions to destroy the Russian operation at all costs!

'Shots on Target' When two leading figures of the Edinburgh establishment are murdered on the same night followed by a leading gangster meeting his death in the local jail DCI Grant McKirdy thinks there are contract killers on the loose on his territory. Investigations reveal that all the fatalities have one thing in common FOOTBALL -THE BEAUTIFUL GAME which has been invaded by an unscrupulous football agent who is part of an international money laundering with links to Africa and the West Indies.'
