Ethan Locke

I spent most of my teenage years ensconced in a clapped out armchair in my bedroom, reading voraciously - to the point where my parents complained that I was spending too much time with a book in my hand! You won't hear that sort of complaint very often, I guess...

I grew up in a Midlands market town, and cut my teeth on the works of Tolkien , but I have pretty wide tastes in literature: fantasy, sci-fi, crime and contemporary fiction.

Eventually, I headed off to uni to study English Lit and politics; I had very long hair, as you can see, and cultivated my image as a new New Romantic. From there, I found myself, as I had always intended, a job as a secondary English teacher. I love my work (most of the time) and I think teenagers are good company (most of the time.)

I now live in the great city of Sheffield, along with my long-suffering wife, Rachel, and our two young sons. I had always wanted to write a book and now I have managed it with 'The Boy Who Lost His Name.' Once I started writing, it all gushed out with surprising speed and ease. I enjoyed it, and have already started to work on the sequel. I hope that I brighten up someone's rainy afternoon and that my stories bring pleasure to at least some of those who read them.
