A.L. Collins

A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, A.L."Buddy" Collins has practiced law in Kernersville, North Carolina since 1982. Service on both the local and state boards of education for over two decades has provided many interactions with young people.

During a visit to Piney Grove Elementary School in Kernersville, N.C., an observation of a class studying folklore rekindled his interest in Southern Appalachian Folklore known as "Jack Tales". His first book is an original story wonderfully illustrated by Abby Esterly, will thrill readers of all ages with the flatland adventure of Mountain Jack, the Squire of South Mountain.

The Author is married with two adult children. The book is dedicated to his two grandchildren, Will and Salem Hunter. The underlying theme of the New Jack Tale series is based on the concept that right always eventually triumphs and that life has a way of working out for those folks who try to do right by others.
