I was born in a multicultural community and was therefore no stranger, from childhood, to diversity. I have enjoyed life and ministry in the Caribbean and in the United States, in rural and urban areas, in large and small churches, in white and black congregations, in congregations as pastor and police departments as chaplain, with angels and with...never mind. I have encountered a variety of experiences in congregational and denominational life. My studies in ministry, theology, communication, and at last, organizational dynamics have blended to produce "And Lead Us Not Into Dysfunction: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, of Church Organizations and Their Leaders." I love order, (although I'm probably borderline OCD) but my wonderful wife of approaching 35 years (and a few dogs along the way - but not my children) have considered me a relatively easy person to live with. I hear I have a sense of humor that can be mighty irreverent (which is why when some folks call me "Reverend" I say, "Thanks, but I'm not reverend all the time"). I'm thrilled you've shown interest in my book, and more thrilled at the transformation I think it will ignite in your thinking - to begin with - should you be unlike me and finish reading the thing. At least, I finished writing it! Who knew?! Thanks for coming my way!
