Jamila Michener is a professor in the department of Government and School of Public Policy at Cornell University. She studies the politics of poverty, race and public policy in the United States. Her research has been supported by the the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Russell Sage Foundation, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the Commonwealth Fund, and the Ford Foundation. She has published dozens of research articles and book chapters. Her work has been cited or featured in NPR, Vox, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Salon and many other outlets.
