Emilien Kenler is a systems architect and software engineer with over a decade of experience building distributed systems across gaming, restaurant tech, and fintech.
He founded his first company at 19 — a Minecraft server hosting platform — where he built a lightweight Infrastructure-as-a-Service system using Node.js and RabbitMQ. After graduating from the University of Technology of Compiègne with a Master's in Computer Science, he relocated to Tokyo, where he went on to serve as Head of IT Architecture at TableCheck and Director of Systems Architecture at Cryptact (now pafin Inc.).
Throughout that career, Emilien repeatedly solved the same class of problems: orchestrating distributed components, managing state across asynchronous operations, and building systems that make autonomous decisions at scale. When agentic AI emerged, he recognized these as the same architectural challenges — and found the available documentation focused on demos, not production.
Agentic Engineering is the book he wished had existed.
