I'm a collector of celebrations, curating pithy delights and sharing them with my readers. It brings joy to my heart to collect snapshots of life and give my readers an opportunity to experience simple memories in fresh, new ways. After the death of my husband, I remembered he'd always encouraged me to collect "beautiful moments" and write them down. I believe I've done that.
Children young and old experience the best and the worst of life. In "Will You Hold My Story?" little Meggi Beth is tired of carrying her heavy story all alone. She sits down to rest and a variety of people come her way, all carrying stories of their own. I'm a lover of dogs, because they are such good listeners, and so in this story, a lovely big dog becomes the great ear for the little girl. This book is dedicated to Sally who encouraged me to ask others to hold my story.
Breath of Joy! Simply Summer
Reviewed By Jack Magnus for Readers’ Favorite
Breath of Joy! Simply Summer is a nonfiction collection of travel photography and poetry written and photographed by Kathy Joy. This work is dedicated to the memory of her late husband, Roger, who had always urged her to “write it all down” and aspired to live in the moment. What is summer? Joy answers the question with each photograph found within this book. There are the moments shared with two happy youngsters reveling in the freedom of the summer, an hour spent rapt in a good book on a long, lazy afternoon, and the endless summer feel of the shorelines that curve around blue vistas of curling waves. Throughout this collection is the theme of the road trip, the car loaded down for an adventure, complete with camper top, navigating along “rain-soaked ribbons of black pearl,” and following “the lazy, winding licorice of a vacation highway.” And, though it always does seem to be an endless summer with its long lazy days, the “swirling dry leaf” and profusion of fallen leaves in vibrant hues seems to signal the coming of autumn and its attendant magic.

Breath of Joy! Singing Spring
5 out of 5 stars
Review by Charmayne Hafen:
"In a world rushing and whirling, Breath of Joy: Singing Spring offers a quiet place to unwind and just observe. We miss so much when we rush from one task to another. Singing Spring reminds us of the beauty that surrounds us in every season, including Spring. The exquisite pictures and poetic wording make it the perfect gift for the over committed, the harried and the frazzled."
