After spending the first half of my life "fighting fires" and doing my best as a business man / public servant, I decided to leave the "rat race" and start living the second half of my life differently. And it is in this second half of my life where I reside today.

Education wise, i earned masters degrees in public administration (Indiana University) and business administration (University of Pennsylvania). As a young man I served as a nuclear trained officer on a fleet ballistic missile submarine during the heart of the Cold War (1969-1973). Some of the companies and institutions that I worked for include: the U.S. Navy; Department of Energy; PricewaterhouseCoopers; Ernst & Young; and Quanta Analytics (my own consulting company).

I claim to be a "writer of spirit" from the heartland. That claim is based upon the fact that my intent is to use my writing as a vehicle to investigate and deal with moral, spiritual, and philosophical issues that I feel help me find my soul. Although i have lived in "big cities", i grew up in a small town in Northern Indiana and i currently live in the "boonies" of North Carolina. It is in the small towns of America where i believe my heart is best served.

My Pyramid of Virtues, which i laid out in one of my books (Before Monarchs), is something that I try to follow in all of my actions. Those virtues in my pyramid include: Love, Faith, Charity, Purity, Fairness in Judgement, Friendliness, Patience, Truthfulness, Strength, Temperance, Courage, Prudence, Humility, and Poverty of Spirit. As an example of my struggle with those virtues, like Humility, I believe my writing is as good as it gets.

I have written two fictional novels, two non-fiction books, a memoir, and a book filled with a compilation of uplifting poems, short stories, and essays. These are:

(1) The Sower's Seeds--what i call my Siddhartha novel;

(2) Champion Standing--what I call my Romeo and Juliet novel;

(3) Crush Depth Alert (non-fiction);

(4) Globanomics (non-fiction);

(5) The Cold War Submariner (1969-1973)--a memoir; and

(6) Before Monarchs Flap Their Wings--the book of poems, short stories, and essays.

And that is about it for now.
