Patrick Drake's journey has been anything but conventional. Starting off as a lawyer, the allure of the corporate conveyor belt quickly wore off, so he ran after his greatest passion: food.

When he told the senior partner at his law firm he was quitting to become and chef, everyone thought he'd lost his marbles. And that was where the real adventure began.

Working for free in any restaurant kitchen that would have him, a chance meeting with Heston Blumenthal led to an internship at The Fat Duck in Bray. He started a Youtube channel to share his love of cooking and sometime later his videos were spotted by a tv producer, leading to his first cooking show for Discovery, Fox and National Geographic Channel.

In 2012 he got together with a bunch of optimistic foodies with the idea of "changing the way people eat. Forever!". The reality was far from those grandiose dreams, as they packed 10 recipe kits in his living room and delivered them by hand to their friends and family. But HelloFresh grew and grew to become the leading recipe kit service in the world, delivering hundreds of millions of meals every year.

He is also the creator of the world's fastest online cooking course, The 60 Second Chef and in 2017 and 2018 was named as one of the thousand most influential people in London by The Evening Standard.
