Daniel Modell

Daniel Modell served for twenty years in the New York City Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant. He performed patrol duties in three ranks across eight commands in the Bronx and Manhattan North. He also served as citywide Coordinator of the Tactical Training Unit and Training Coordinator for the Firearms and Tactics Section. During his tenure, Daniel secured a certification in Force Science Analysis and served and continues to serve as expert witness in policy, procedure and use of force.

Daniel was employed as Adjunct Professor at the State University of New York-FIT where he inaugurated the curriculum for and taught self-defense.

As Chief Executive Officer of Ares Tactical and Emergency Management Solutions, Daniel has administered seminars ranging from the dynamics of mass casualty events and tactical mindset to street operational self-defense and decision-making under stress.

Daniel secured a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Philosophy, New York University, 1989 and a Master of Arts Degree, Philosophy, University of Texas-Austin, 1994. He studied under Fellowship, Fordham University, 1994-1995.
