Sarah Hyndman

Author Sarah Hyndman is a science-informed multi-sensory experience designer. She is an international speaker, founder of Type Tasting, host of the Seeing Senses Podcast and founder of The Sensologists.

Since 2013, she has designed mass-participation experiments and interactive talks that translate perceptual science into engaging, participatory experiences for mainstream audiences. She works with organisations, cultural institutions and creative teams to design distinctive, science-informed experiences that people notice and remember. Many of these activities and insights can be found in her books.

She is the author of the bestselling Why Fonts Matter (Penguin). She has changed the conversation about typography from academic to multi-sensory. Her current work explores the full spectrum of multi-sensory perception, with a new book on the way.

Sarah has co-published research with Professor Charles Spence, University of Oxford. Her work has been featured across television, radio and print, including CNN, Wired, Dazed, BBC Radio and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch.
