Jim Jordan

Jim Jordan researches and writes about the colonial, antebellum, and Civil War South. He lives on Callawassie Island in Okatie, South Carolina, with his wife Kathleen.

The novel Penny Savannah: A Tale of Civil War Georgia is the sequel to Savannah Grey: A Tale of Antebellum Georgia, published in 2007. His non-fiction book, The Slave-Trader's Letter-Book: Charles Lamar, the Wanderer, and Other Secrets of the African Slave Trade has just been published by the University of Georgia Press. Mr. Jordan has published articles in the Georgia Historical Quarterly and the Journal of Military History.

On Tuesday October 16, the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Counsel of the University System of Georgia presented me with the 2018 Award for Excellence in Documenting Georgia’s History for my book, “The Slave-Trader’s Letter-Book: Charles Lamar, the Wanderer and Other Tales of the African Slave Trade.”
