Kate M Walker

Kate Walker, Ph.D. is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor with offices in The Woodlands, Texas. Dr. Walker is a speaker, researcher, advocate, and counselor educator. Career highlights include being elected 2015-2016 President of the Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (TACES) and working as the Director of Clinical Field Experience at the University of Houston Victoria. Currently she teaches at SHSU as an adjunct professor; she serves as the TACES LPC Board Liaison; and she carries a full case load of individuals, couples, and families in her counseling practice achievebalance.org. Dr. Walker earned her master’s and Ph.D. degrees from SHSU and her bachelor of music degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She taught orchestra in the public schools and continues to freelance as a bass player for singer/songwriters in the Houston area. She is mom to three amazing kids and wife to Sergeant First Class David Walker who is still active in the US Army.
