I had always dreamed of being an author, but working in the Electronics Industry and travelling a lot seemed to always give me no time for anything. I finally decided to take early retirement and devote some of that free time to try my hand at writing.
I am Scottish and born into a family whose ancestors lived in Ferryden during Jacobite times. My interest in history goes well beyond Scotland, but my first two books deal with the Jacobite rebellions of 1715 and 1745. They are fictional and came about through my research of my family tree when I retired. I found out that my family had lived in the same small village for hundreds of years and that the town of Montrose across the river had experienced great moments in these two rebellions. Bringing the two together raised my imagination about what my family may have seen or been involved in. So with my imagination to the fore, I wrote and published two books through Amazon.
Book 3 (A Jacobite Rebel in Colonial Virginia) has just been released. Although essentially a follow on from my first two books it has been written to also be read as a stand alone book.
