Jacqueline van der Wath

Jacqueline van der Wath has been writing poetry since she first learned to string words together. In 2004 on a challenge from a friend she published her first poem. The poem resulted in a nomination of the top 200 poets in the world. She published steadily and in 2005 was nominated as one of the top 30 poets in the world. Various poems were published in anthologies for the Poetry Library of Congress in Washington, Random House, New York and London, the Poetry Institute of Africa as well as Christian Poetry, South Africa. In 2005 she became an International Poet Laureate, not only for writing but also reviewing of poetry.

In 2015 she went back to school and attained her Doctoral Degree in Spiritual Counselling and became an ordained minister. She rediscovered her love of writing and wrote a couple of short stories. She loves to cook creatively and at her families insistence published a cook book in 2014. When she completed her degrees she wrote and published a self-help book in 2015.

On a challenge issued by her husband she organised her poetry and put them into 9 different anthologies to celebrate the last 20 years of writing.

She currently lives in Amanzimtoti, South Africa with her husband, children, mother-in-law and her zoo of pets.
