L.L. Cochard

Laura Lozano Cochard is a French-Mexican-Canadian writer, born in Mexico City and raised between Cuernavaca and the surrounding mountains. Trained in Communication Sciences, she has built a career spanning writing, editing, design, and project coordination. She began writing at thirteen, and the voices in her head have not gone quiet since.

Under the pen name L. L. Cochard, she published El despertar de los clanes in 2018, the first installment of El Círculo de Plata, an epic fantasy trilogy whose world she has been building for more than twenty years with a level of dedication not entirely compatible with office hours. She is practical and organized—except when it comes to managing her interests, limiting her projects, or accepting the number of hours there are in a day.

She emigrated to Canada in 2017 and now lives near the woods in Kanata, Ottawa. When she is not writing obsessively, she and her husband, Alberto, are raising their two young children; she chases after her dog, devours books, or goes camping, because apparently living next to the woods is not enough.
