Barbara Truman

Dr. Barbara Truman is a research scientist, educator, and consultant with a background in administration of enterprise distributed learning. She serves as a Strategic Advisor for Immersive Learning & Collaboration in UCF’s Institute for Simulation & Training for the Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando. Barbara founded an award-winning department at UCF responsible for creating online programs and campus services. She explores emerging, 3D networked collaboration capabilities for scholarship and inquiry across education, government, industry, and military research projects. Barbara serves as an advisor for the US Air Force’s immersive learning research activities and was the Community Manager for the US Army’s Military Open Simulation Enterprise Strategy, virtual world project. Her background is in Instructional Systems Design, Human Performance Technology, and Computer Science, Emerging Media.
