Daniel Stride

Daniel was born in Greymouth, New Zealand, in December 1982. He has always loved books, either fiction or non-fiction, having a childhood love of Roald Dahl and C.S. Lewis. Then he encountered The Lord of the Rings aged nine, and fell in love with it (having a surname so close to Strider felt like a bonus).

He moved to Dunedin in 2000, where he ended up spending far too long at university, accumulating multiple degrees in the process. As of 2007, he also started writing a novel, Wise Phuul, which was inspired by a 1930s Clark Ashton Smith story. The novel was accepted by a small UK press in 2015, and published the following year. Daniel also writes short stories and poetry.

In addition to reading and writing, he has a fondness for tea, medieval re-enactment, foreign languages (Finnish is one of his more useless hobbies), chocolate, and cats.

He can be found blogging on writing, the Fantasy Genre, Tolkien, politics, and other things at https://phuulishfellow.wordpress.com/
