"There are many kinds of opportunities in life. The sort people pay for, the kind that cross your path, the ones you hunt down and the ones you think up. But a vision? If you can catch a vision, you are in for the ride of your life…"

Robert Bromley Davis (Bob) is a writer and dreamer who was born in the UK. He attended Bucks University for a BA in Business Studies and has worked in marketing and management for numerous well-known food industry and marketing companies.

One of his greatest loves is the theatre and for musicals in particular, but he often found himself wondering at Gilbert and Sullivan performances. Why did they keep on with those ancient jokes, many of which have lost their relevance and meaning in the mists of passing time? The amazingly talented music though still shines through in spite of this.

He then hit on an idea of bringing the words up to date to appeal to a whole new audience, and so the idea of The Euro Mikado was born. Set in a ski resort in modern day Europe, it still faithfully follows Gilbert and Sullivan’s format and retains the original music but with a fresh story and new lyrics. This is the first of six classic G&S operettas that Bob has rewritten the book and lyrics for.

Bob has also written acclaimed musicals for the amature stage including 'Joan of Arc a Musical' and 'The Curse of Cromwell'.

In his spare time Bob likes skiing, sailing, history, spending time with his family and being active with his local church. He is, of course, an avid theatre-goer and hopes that his new take on much-loved classics will appeal to a wide audience.
