Frederick H Leonhardt

Frederick Leonhardt holds an MS degree in structural geology and an MA degree in counseling psychology. He has worked in the petroleum exploration and mental health fields. Currently he is executive director of his family’s private foundation—The Frederick H. Leonhardt Foundation. Leonhardt writes a blog entitled Bowlby Less Traveled (bltblog.fhlfoundation.org). He enjoys reading books in areas such as psychology, sociology, cultural studies, and general science. Two of his favorite authors are neurobiologist Antonio Damasio (author of Self Comes to Mind and The Strange Order of Things) and MIT researcher Sherry Turkle (author of Alone Together and Reclaiming Conversation). He's also a student of John Bowlby's work. Bowlby arguably is the father of attachment theory and wrote a trilogy on the subject as well as many popular books such as A Secure Base and The Making and Breaking of Affectional Bonds.
