Hi,

My name is Magnus Templar and I'm a college math teacher and bestselling author. I started playing chess when I was 5 years old and have always been super passionate about this game. I believe chess has sparked my passion for logical thinking which eventually led me to study math.

Now I'm not a chess master or a pro chess player. But chess has always been a significant part of my life for over 45 years. I love playing the game with my friends and sister who still happens to beat me... In my spare time, I teach kids how to play this fascinating game.

I believe the game of chess is a cultural treasure that needs to be maintained for many generations to come. And I hope I can contribute to that goal with my beginner's series!
