Xi Li

Li Xi is the artistic director and conductor of Shenzhen Yantian Foreign Language Primary School Children’s Choir. Li Xi is a member of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM), the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), the China Choral Association, and the China Society of Music Education (CSME). She is also a board member of the Choral Association of Guangdong Province.

She used to be an excellent singer. At the age of 20, she published her first vocal duet cassette, Chinese Ballads. Her first album, “A Red Rose in Front of My Window”, which was published in 2005, received wide acclamation. In 2001, she began to engage in choral conducting. She is the founding conductor of Shenzhen Yantian Foreign Language Primary School Children’s Choir. Over the past decade, she led the choir in enjoying and pursuing the wonderful realm of choral art, and in result the choir has enjoyed enormous growth. For example, the choir won the gold medal in the Champion competition of the 6th World Choir Games in July 2010. Published China’s first children’s a cappella album “Pure Beauty of Children’s Choirs Young Children’s A Cappella Collection Album I” in 2012, “Pure Beauty of Children’s Choirs Young Children’s A Cappella Collection Album II Children’s Fun” in 2013. She was editor of “Young Children’s a Cappella Collection Album Pure Beauty of Children’s Choirs” which was published by Anhui Literature and Art Publishing House In January 2015.

Her articles, “Unaccompanied Choral Traditions of China’s Dong People” was published in International Choral Bulletin in 3rd quarter, 2011, “Western Choral Music sung by Chinese Rural Fields” was published in International Choral Bulletin in 1st quarter, 2012, which was also published in Eastern Division R& S Community Choirs of American Choral Directors Association.
