Mona Hanford

Mona Hanford is an end-of-life change agent and the founder of The Hope Initiative, a five-part course designed to encourage and support caregivers, the chronically or terminally ill, and anyone contemplating life and its meaning. The material is faith-based but helps people from all backgrounds prepare for spiritual and emotional struggles as they face questions about death.

Mona has been working on end-of-life care issues for decades. She has been interviewed, quoted and referenced widely in the media and in books focused on end-of-life care, and also in books with broader appeal. She was a development consultant for four decades for nonprofit institutions and was the expert cited in The Seven Pearls of Financial Wisdom for the chapter “Legacy Building.”

Mona has served on the boards of Capital Care and The Washington Home and Community hospices, and the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research, among many others.

She is a networker and team builder who welcomes people with passion and heart into her big tent!
