Joe Jenney

Rev. Dr. Joe Jenney is a retired executive and an Episcopal Priest who enjoys art and writing. He has published books on leadership, systems engineering, historical fiction, spy novel, murder mysteries and children’s stories. He is fortunate to be able to pursue his passion for history, art and the classics through his volunteer work with a large collection of historical books and artifacts. It was his volunteer work that inspired a fictional look at how history might have been different in the 20th century. This idea is explored in the novelette “The Secret Letters of FDR”.

His favorite art is drawing. He has indulged this passion by illustrating a children's book with drawings of birds that visit his bird feeders. These are in the book "Tufty the Cross-eyed Titmouse", a book for kids from 4 to 84. He illustrated "The Worthy Suitor" with line drawings.

Dr. Jenney was an executive for 35 years in organizations including aerospace, defense, research and development, federal government, banking and consulting. He held management positions at levels including general management and boards of directors. He learned leadership principles from excellent bosses, famous management experts and leadership authors. His experience is captured in his book “The Manager’s Guide for Effective Leadership”.

He was fortunate to lead an outstanding systems engineering group that practiced modern methods that achieve shorter time and higher quality for the systems engineering of complex systems. These concepts are captured in the book “Modern Methods of Systems Engineering”.
