Leslie Berryman Blome is a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in autism spectrum disorders. She first became interested in autism when she volunteered to for a study as an undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her fascination with autism led her to pursue her master’s degree at The Florida State University, where she completed an ethnographic study of a child with autism in an inclusive preschool setting. Leslie has worked with students with autism in many different settings including hospitals, private clinics, and the public schools.
For the past several years, Leslie has had the good fortune to collaborate with Maureen (Mo) Zelle, and their team of amazing colleagues, in an inclusive preschool classroom with students on the autism spectrum. Leslie and Mo have trained colleagues and parents on strategies and techniques for working effectively with students with autism. They have presented to fellow professionals both locally and at national conventions, co-author a blog (www.preschoolasd.com), and have co-authored an article that has been accepted for publication in Exchange magazine. Leslie lives with her husband in Denver, Colorado, and is the proud mother of three sons. Find out more about Leslie at www.linkedin.com/in/leslieblome/
