Benjamin M Piety

Benjamin M Piety is a multi-disciplinary artist and world-builder whose work spans literature, film, and interactive media. A graduate of the University of Central Florida's film program, his early short film work was celebrated at festivals worldwide, including the Sundance Film Festival (2008) and SXSW, where he won a Special Jury Prize in 2007.

A life-altering HIV diagnosis in 2008 prompted a period of inward reflection, fundamentally shifting his creative focus. Ten years to the day after that news, he re-emerged with his debut fantasy novel, Advent of the Roar, a self-described "folk tale" and the first book in The Land Old, Untouched series. This return marked a new chapter of creating deliberate, layered worlds.

Today, his work continues to explore themes of adventure, kindness, and quiet contemplation. In addition to writing, he designs meditative puzzle games, develops on his ongoing photo series SEASONALS, and records long-form "slowthrough" of open world video games, inviting his audience to find poetry in patient exploration.
