The author, once a convinced atheist, immersed in an immoral and dissolute life, wild and aimless, devoid of any sense except that of immediate satisfaction, finds himself suddenly experiencing extraordinary situations in ordinary everyday life.

It is the way the Father acts; He has a plan of love even for the most perverse and seemingly most hopeless of His children: He looks for them, He calls them in a thousand ways to draw them to Himself, with sweetness, without forcing them to believe but giving them signs, at times even extremely clear, allowing them always and at all times the use of their free will.

As such, willing or not, the author, who was a hardened blasphemer, allows himself to be moulded by the delicate power of God.
