I have had a keen professional interest in how science can affect society - in both good and unforeseen ways - having worked in technological industry since I got my Chemistry degree.

To that end, I have written two novels that explore the ways in which well-meaning scientific endeavour can go awry and the broader effects that the loss of control of the scientists' vision can have on the rest of us. (I have seen this happen in real life often enough). Quite often, my novels tap into actual events which, while originally unconnected, I have threaded together in these new narratives.

When I'm not writing, I'm an avid musician (check out the releases under the artist name 'The Zed Band') and profoundly untalented cricketer. I live in a village near Oxford with my patient wife and insane dog.
