D' ASHANTA

Desaree Riley was born Desaree Ashanta Jackson to two devoted parents in New Orleans, LA. As a girl, she dreamt of being a lawyer, but at some point, her career outlook became a nurse. After signing with Mesha Mesh Presents, formerly Allure Me Presents, she became an author known by the name of D’Ashanta. Since then, she has penned a number of stories in the Urban Literature world. Being able to write what was on her heart afforded her the freedom of keeping her fiction realistic so that in her writing, she wouldn't change a thing. Life has pulled her in many directions, with two lanes being constant, her love for family and passion for writing. By day she's a student because learning never ends, by night, she's an author, 24 hours a day, she's a wife, a mother, a MiMi, and a bestie.
