B. M. Jain

I , B.M. Jain, am a professor of political science and international relations; formerly professor of political science at South Asia Studies Centre, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. I have been visiting professor and visiting scholar at numerous universities in USA, Europe and Asia. These included: University of British Columbia ,Okanagan Campus, Canada, Cleveland State University, Ohio, State University of New York at Binghamton, New York, UNESCO Chair for Peace, Jaume University, Castellon, Spain, University of Hong Kong, University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia, Henry L. Stimson Centre, Washington, Gerald Ford Foundation Grantee, Ann Arbor ,Michigan , Institute for Far Eastern Studies, Seoul, Charles Wallace Trust Grantee( twice, British Council, London).I have delivered the invited lectures at more than two dozen universities in USA, Europe and Asia, which include Illinois University (Urbana-Champaign), Purdue University, Pittsburgh University(Kansas), North Carolina University( Durham) , Goethe University, Frankfurt( Germany), South Carolina University(Columbia); Humboldt University(Berlin),Leipzig University( Germany), Free Berlin University(Berlin), Bremen University, Kassel University(Kassel), Bundeswehr University(Hamburg), Bonn University, Tokyo International University(Japan), McGill University at Montreal in Canada, Centre for Asian Studies, University of Hong Kong; Senior Fellow, Indian Council of Social Sciences Research (ICSSR, New Delhi), March 2012—September 2014

I have presented over four dozen papers and chaired sessions at international conferences in North America, Europe and Asia, and has delivered hundreds of lectures in India in different capacities, including as the UGC Resource Person. I have been a Member of International Advisory Council, Toda Institute for Global Peace and Policy Research, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.

I have lectured in numerous universities/ research institutes and think tanks in the United States, Canada, Europe (Germany, Spain, and England) and Asia.

I have extensively spoken on the US role in South Asia, China’s strategic engagement with South Asia, Southeast, North East and the Middle East Asia.

I have authored/edited over twenty books. My recent books include China’s Soft Power Diplomacy in South Asia: Myth or Reality?( Lexington Books: An Imprint of Rowman and Littlefield, Lanham, MD,USA, 2017),India-US Relations in the Age of Uncertainty(London and New York: Routledge , 2016),Global Power : India’s Foreign Policy( Lexington Books: an Imprint of Rowman and Littlefield, USA, 2008 and 2010); India in the New South Asia( IB Tauris, London, 2010 and 2011), Conflict and Peace in South Asia, ed.( Emerald Publishing books, London, 2008), and also Nuclear Politics in South Asia (1994), South Asian Security : Problems and Prospects ( New Delhi and London, 1985 and1987). I have been a reviewer of many international journals such as Pacific Affairs(British Columbia University, Canada), Contemporary South Asia (Manchester, UK) and South Asia: Journal of South Asian Studies (London: Routledge). Also, I sits on several international journals’ advisory boards.

I have published nearly one hundred research papers, including in the peer reviewed international journals such as Pacific Affairs, The Round Table, Journal of Asian Affairs, China Report, and 22 short articles in international encyclopaedias ( USA). My biography has been featured in Marquis WHO’S WHO in the World (the oldest encyclopaedia of USA) , 16th edition, 1999, 18th edition 2001; 28th edition, 2011, 33th edition, 2016, Marquis WHO’s WHO in Asia , and Wikipedia.Jain is on the editorial board of several international journals, and also Editor-in-Chief, Indian Journal of Asian Affairs( since 1988)
