Shel Graves

Shel Graves is a reader, writer, and utopian thinker who lives by the Salish Sea. She writes science fiction and fantasy and has a passion for utopias and optimistic science fiction — ecofeminism, afrofuturism, and solarpunk. She loves to envision better futures and join the exciting conversations happening about our possibilities. Shel has been a hospice volunteer, a Peace Corps volunteer, a communications professional in education and health care, a journalist, and an animal caregiver and animal behaviorist at an animal sanctuary. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing at Goddard College. She currently runs Shel Graves Animal Consulting, a dog training, dog and cat behavior, and animal chaplaincy business in Everett, Washington.
