Myles Ojabo

His mother was a medical student at the time of his birth. His father, a veterinarian, was in Northern Nigeria, and didn’t get the telegraph sent at that time informing him of the birth. It took two weeks before news reached his father in Northern Nigeria. In the years that followed, four more siblings were born in the family.

The author has a master of creative writing degree from the Auckland University of Technology, and has recently completed a doctorate.

Myles Ojabo had astigmatism as a child. Being a tall kid he was made to take the back seat in classes. He had always pondered on why he couldn’t see the blackboard as clear as others could see it. Instead of taking notes, he made sketches in his books. The outcome was for him to repeat a class. A while after his astigmatism was detected, he was rated the best student in his class.

In 2013, two years after his move to New Zealand, he married his sweetheart. Both made a home in Auckland and now have two children.
