About the Author

While many things seem to come simply to test our faith, others seem to come to destroy it altogether. In a time and season where it seemed God was so very far away from her, author and speaker Angie Green not only lost her faith—she lost all trust and hope in God. After losing not one—but four—children unexpectedly, she felt abandoned, forsaken, forgotten. In her anger, she felt like God had it out for her, as if He was punishing her. But it was in her trying to hold on for dear life that she learned to let go. It was in that letting go that she actually became stronger in faith and regained a new sense of trust in God.

In her debut book, On the Other Side of Through: Life After Loss, Green shares how the joys of parenthood were soon cut short by the grief of having to bury multiple children. After months of depression and struggling to get out of the bed from day to day, she soon realized that what felt like it may kill her is what God was using to build her. Through her transparency and tenacity, her book serves as a tool to open the doors of communication with parents who have lost children nationwide who are still in the midst of the grieving process.

What many would use as a reason to quit, a reason to give up, Green uses as a reason to trek forward and encourage others that life after loss can only truly be found in relationship with Christ. Though she’s on the other side of some of the worst parts of the journey, she’s not oblivious to the fact that this journey is never complete. It’s not a race or a sprint. There’s no award or medal at the finish line. It’s a continual faith walk—many days, hour by hour, minute by minute. And she recognizes that a large part of her hurt and heartache is what helps others heal and find hope.
