Dr. Mark McMorris Jr. is a former deputy sheriff, journalist, animal rescuer, and author whose life's work has been dedicated to service, advocacy, and education.
Over the course of his career, he has investigated crimes, reported on issues affecting local communities, and advocated for the protection of animals and the people who care for them and spent more than a decade operating a large animal rescue organization that helped rescue and rehome more than 3,000 animals. His firsthand experience working with law enforcement, animal welfare organizations, shelters, and rescue groups provides the foundation for many of his books.
As the author of more than thirty books, Dr. McMorris writes on animal welfare, investigations, leadership, public accountability, faith, and personal growth. His books combine practical experience with a straightforward approach that encourages readers to become informed, involved, and willing to make a difference.
A passionate advocate for animals, Dr. McMorris believes that lasting change begins when ordinary citizens speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. His work challenges readers to think deeply about compassion, responsibility, leadership, and community involvement.
Today, he continues to educate and inspire through his books and through his YouTube channel, Heart to Heart with Dr. Mark, where he discusses animal advocacy, public accountability, faith, and life lessons drawn from decades of service.
"Compassion without action changes nothing."
