ML Maki

I, Sofia Maki, and my co-author, Megan L. Maki, are writing a new alternative history military based series, The Fighting Tomcats. We are also publishing a connected submarine series, The Hunter/Killer series.

Megan L. Maki is a U.S. Navy veteran with twenty years of active service. She was born in southwest Washington state in 1966. Her fascination with the U.S. Navy and WWII history started at a young age. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the Navy as a nuclear field machinist mate. She served for six and half years on two cruisers. During that time, she circumnavigated the earth once, transited the Panama Canal three times, and was involved in Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Uphold Democracy.

Her third and best tour was on the carrier USS Carl Vinson, for five and a half years. She was on the Vinson during its operations supporting Southern Watch, Desert Fox, and Enduring Freedom.

Since retiring from active service in 2005, her life has been an uneventful series of mechanical positions she supplements with liberal doses of science fiction reading and writing. She has two sons of whom she is very proud. She currently lives alone on the Puget Sound, where she focuses on writing.

Sofia Maki also lives alone on the Puget Sound and focuses on writing. She has a background in criminal justice and accounting. Currently, she is working on the Fighting Tomcats and the Hunter/Killer series with Megan. She enjoys reading and is currently studying the Stoic philosphers.
