Alexander Golland

Prof. Dr Alexander Golland is Professor of Information Society Law, in particular Industrial Property Rights and Data Protection, at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. His teaching, research and publications focus on German and European data protection law.

Previously, he worked in the field of data protection for the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., the European Commission in Brussels, and as a lawyer for the international law firm PwC Legal. He still works there today as Of Counsel in the area of data protection and cybersecurity. Several times, he has been recognized as a leading lawyer for data protection law.

Alexander Golland is also editor of the journal “Datenschutz-Berater” (Data Protection Advisor), External Expert of the European Data Protection Board, lecturer in data protection law at the FernUniversität in Hagen and the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, and author of numerous academic publications.
